Kawee Luxury Bush Retreat is a beautiful timber house situated on approx. 3.2 acres of private pristine Australian Bushland, overlooking the Macdonald River and located in the Macdonald Valley, Hawkesbury NSW, just a short drive of approx. 1 hour from Sydney.


The house features cathedral ceilings, natural timber features and stunning views of the river, mountains and Australian bushland. Every room of the house features large French windows where you can observe the abundance of native birds and wildlife.

Escape from city life to our unique accommodation comprising of two large bedrooms (one with a king bed and the other with a super king bed) and two living areas set up for the perfect adults only retreat. Invite some friends or have the place to yourself.

Go bushwalking on our expansive property and adjoining National Park and explore the massive rock escapement and stunning 360 views from the top of the mountain.

Enjoy a bbq with wines and a cheese platter on the large outdoor deck, breathe in the fresh air and watch the sunset while listening to the sounds of serenity. In addition to the fully stocked kitchen, there is also a full undercover outdoor kitchen available for use. A great spot to enjoy an afternoon with friends or a romantic evening with somebody special.

Collect fresh eggs from our friendly chickens daily, cook up a storm, or visit one of the various local cafes / pubs for a tasty meal. We can also provide antipasto / dessert platters for your arrival. Ask for more info prior to booking.


Our toasty warm wood fire will keep you cosy and comfortable during winter, with unlimited firewood.

Relax and recharge knowing you don't have to be anywhere or do anything and take advantage of the peace and quiet while you read a book or two in this relaxing and spacious home.


We have plenty of books, board games, a PlayStation with games and Netflix for those rainy days.


Kawee Luxury Bush Retreat is located close to some of the Hawkesbury's finest bushwalking tracks such as the Convict Trail, Sheppards Gully and Finchs Line as well as various local water sport activities such as kayaking, boating, fishing and water skiing. But we promise you will love the place so much that you simply will not want to go anywhere!





(Please note at present there is an additional 40-50min detour via Webbs Creek ferry

due to recent road damage in the area).

Where does the name Kawee originate from? You will notice we have many grass trees on our property, also known as Xanthorrhoea Australis. In certain Aboriginal languages, they are called bukkup, baggup or kawee. Given the amount of these amazing native plants, and our property being located in Darkinjung Country, we felt Kawee was a fitting name for our retreat.
